Planerite is a rare member of the Turquoise Group. It is typically blue-green, pale green, pale blue and white with a waxy to chalky luster. It is often associated with Turquoise and Wavellite.

The crystal system for Planerite is Triclinic, forming microcrystalline crusts, botryoidal masses and spherulites (Spherulites are small, rounded bodies with an internal radial crystallization structure).

Quality Planerite specimens are found in limited localities, including Portugal, Russia, South Africa, and the USA (Arkansas).
