I really like this piece not only for the beautiful spray of Barite, but more for the contrast and aesthetics. Usually Barite sprays are attached (if at all) to a small incidental amount of matrix as a result of separation from the matrix in the earth. These specimens are in abundance, but to see a piece with a simple spray on a hosting matrix and not costing thousands of dollars was enough for me! The spray itself is in excellent condition and the matrix is beautifully colored and full of contrast itself. All in all, it’s an excellent and unusual piece that shows really well.
