A fine specimen of acicular, deep blue Cyanotrichite crystals on matrix. This acicular crystal growth (also described as radiating needle-like, or hair-like aggregate growth) can be seen in the closeup pics. Fun fact: this mineral is named after “kyanos” meaning “blue,” and “tricha” meaning “hair,” thus the accurate description of seemingly blue hair (but not an old person . . . ). I particularly like the deep blue color and the contrast with the matrix, as well as the velvet-like luster of the Cyanotrichite. An uncommon find in excellent condition.
