Calcite
$550.00
An exceptionally large specimen hosting numerous translucent, white flattened rhombohedral Calcite crystals on matrix. The Calcite crystals have a soft, waxy luster, are striated, and are quite large. Not only is the entire surface populated with intergrown Calcite crystals, but the matrix shows a layering with voids that have been filled with Calcite serving as a kind of cement to the structural integrity of the piece. There is crystal growth in the voids, particularly evident on the bottom of the piece (though it’s not the easiest piece to view the bottom – it’s just really big and heavy). It is a superb, aesthetic piece in excellent condition; a beautiful showpiece for any collection.
