Calcite
$360.00
An exceptionally large and spectacular piece featuring numerous lustrous, milky-white pseudohexagonal (tabular) Calcite crystals up to 6 cm across on a black matrix. Some of the crystals are aligned in parallel formation (often referred to as “poker chip” formation, but these are way too big for poker chips . . . ) while others are more random and intersecting. The large hexagonal faces are lustrous, milky-white and zoned, but what really caught my eye was how transparent and gemmy/glassy the shorter prismatic sides of the crystals are – it’s quite amazing! A really beautiful, unique and aesthetic piece with amazing crystal formation and great contrast and symmetry. In excellent condition.
