Fluorite, Blue on Quartz
A fascinating piece from a recent find in Inner Mongolia. It features a Quartz matrix of two generations: a clear core with a second, off-white opaque miniature crystalline Quartz coating rendering the hosting Quartz matrix slightly translucent. The Fluorite from this find is really unique, consisting of octahedral crystal growth with complex modifications that is translucent with a rich, indigo blue color and wax-like luster. The contrast is amazing and the entire piece is very aesthetic. It is not easy to find these pieces in great condition, yet after looking at numerous specimens, I found this one and it is superb!
