A fascinating piece from a recent find in Inner Mongolia. It features numerous intersecting Quartz crystals of two generations: a clear core with a second, off-white opaque microcrystalline Quartz coating rendering the Quartz slightly translucent. The Fluorite from this find is really unique, consisting of octahedral crystal growth with complex modifications that is translucent with a rich, indigo blue color and wax-like luster. The contrast is amazing and the entire piece is very aesthetic. It is not easy to find these pieces in great condition, yet after looking at numerous specimens, I found this one and it is superb!
