(From a recent trip to Namibia and Zambia) A large and beautiful specimen of fibrous Malachite in combination with green, fibrous, hemispherical aggregates of Malachite displaying a chatoyant, silky luster (Chatoyancy: an optical reflectance effect, as in “cat’s eye,” arising from the fibrous structure of a material . . . ). The rare “leafy”-like fibrous crystals, formed from dense intergrowths of tiny “fibrous” needles, along with a silky luster, create an eye-catching visual on both the front and back of the piece. Amazing color and crystal habit contrast! In excellent condition.
