Stilbite on Quartz
I’m generally not a big fan of most Zeolites, mainly because they’re overabundant and usually of poor quality. But I discovered a handful that I couldn’t look the other way and picked them up. These Stilbites are perfectly formed, translucent with a beautiful pearl luster. This particular piece is world class – it has a striking formation with seemingly random placements of Stilbite crystals on a druzy covered clear Quartz stalactite, and these crystals are partially transparent – rare for Stilbite. Considering the aesthetics, color, luster and condition – it’s as close to perfect as there is.
